Santa talking to a scared Melissa.
Dear Students,
Can you believe it? 2013 is here!
Some new things to know: our schedule for the rest of the year will be a little different (we won't be going to Ms. Vogt for READ ALL each day, since she will be working with the other half of 2nd grade for the rest of the year). Go check out our new Daily Schedule by clicking HERE! We also won't be doing the STAR notebooks for the rest of the year--they were looking a little worn out, and I think a Homework-Communication Folder may be a little easier to keep up with. Your mom and dad and you can read about that by clicking HERE. Last, I've added some new photos to our Picture page. I put some of our elf photos up and our Guest Mystery Readers reading to you. Click HERE to see those.
I hope you've had a great, restful holiday break. Melissa, Mr. Rollins, and I have had a nice vacation together. Some highlights:
*I took Melissa to Hippo Hop in Duluth one day and we saw Jesse and his family there! Jesse and his sister were so sweet to Melissa, especially when she climbed up to the top of a really big slide and suddenly got scared and started crying. Thank you so much for helping her, Jesse!
*We went to Bass Pro Shop and saw Santa Claus. Melissa was so scared and wouldn't sit on his lap! (Are you seeing a theme here? I am! I think I need to help Melissa stop being such a scaredy cat! :-)
*We had a nice Christmas dinner with Melissa's Grammy and Grandpa Harry, and Melissa got Shrek and Fiona dolls. She loves Shrek movies.
I hope your break was just as fun. Are you excited about coming back to school on Thursday? I have some fun Happy New Year activities for us to do both days. Also, you are half-way to being 3rd graders! Thursday and Friday will be a great time to review what's important about school and set some goals for 2013 as well as the rest of our school year together so we can get ready for 3rd grade success!
Can't wait to see you on Thursday!
Love,
Ms. Samson
